Ella Gale in the Community Garden
From a Prelude of J.S. Bach's "Sheep May Safely Graze", we moved to Charlie Bockius and the Southside Bluegrass Band playing "Ashoken Lament".From left to right, Bill Carlsen on mandolin, Aaron Morehart on bass, and Charlie Bockius on guitar.Newest member Aaron Morehart on bass (son of Mark, the banjo player), and Charlie playing "Life is Like a Mountain Railroad."Charlie with Mark Morehart on banjo, and Rodney McAdams on fiddle.Founders Day's final hymn was "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot" with a Bill Carlsen vocal backed by the South Side Bluegrass Band.

Ann Bockius has become a regular at Valley of the Flowers, counseling overwhelmed parents. She will be back again October 24th.Barbara Adams spoke with us on P/FLAG, Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays.Jill Schaefer gave us the background on her self-published book, "Up the Wooden Hill".Recent visitor, David Aubrey, delighted everyone with his morning worship vocals.New member Mary Lou Parks, spoke about her book "Taking the 'E' Ticket Ride Through the Golden Years, What Can Boomers Expect?"

Lompoc Music Association presented soprano Marissa Bloom's Christmas concert to start off their 2010-2011 season.Jazz Divine did their evening jazz worship service December 5th. It was well received in spite of the pouring rain.Steve Dunlap has visited Valley of the Flowers several times now. January 10th he will be a regular on Monday nights at 6:00 p.m. leading Chi Gung exercises.Congratulations to Kristina and Bobbie Kupihea. They renewed their marriage vows during morning worship on December 12th and hosted a lovely reception after in Fellowship Hall.Victoria McReynolds, co-designer of the Peace Prize (and John and Barbara's daughter) visited at Christmas and shared her thought process in the creation of the Peace Prize.
